Scotland’s First Natural Dairy Protein Ice Cream Launched to Market

Graham’s Family Dairy, Scotland’s number one food brand, has announced a double product
launch which will include Scotland’s first protein-packed ice cream and a brand-new protein
cottage cheese product.

The two new products will join Graham’s Family Dairy popular protein range and are now being
rolled out in 112 Lidl locations across Scotland.

The brand-new ice cream product will pack a hearty 10g of natural dairy protein per 100g serving.
Each serving contains under 170 calories and is one of the only ice cream products in the UK to
use natural dairy protein as opposed to plant based and powder forms. It comes in Vanilla, Salted
Caramel and Double Chocolate flavours.

Graham’s new Protein Cottage Cheese will contain 30g of protein in every 200g pot and come in
Natural flavour. The new line will look to build on the success of its traditional cottage cheese
product, sales of which have grown 40% in the last year.

Robert Graham, Managing Director at Graham’s Family Dairy said:
“Growing up on the dairy, ice cream was always a staple in our house as you might imagine. As
protein proves increasingly important in our diets, we’ve been hoping to create a product which
can be an indulgent treat that also supports a healthy lifestyle.

“Our Protein Cottage Cheese however has been created on the back of crazy demand in our
traditional cottage cheese product – consumers are increasingly demanding high-protein foods that
aren’t ultra-processed and we’ve seen that demand across our protein range.

“We’re proud to offer two new products that don’t only tick both boxes but are the first of their kind
to be produced in Scotland. By working closely with Scottish family farms, we’re proud to offer
protein-rich options that combine health, indulgence, and quality—perfect for fuelling workouts,
enjoying a healthy snack, or treating yourself.”

The two new products are the latest added to the family business’ protein portfolio, which has
flexed its muscles across supermarkets in Scotland this year. The popular range – which
includes protein pouches and confectionary pots – overtook sales of conventional milk in major
supermarkets last year, with protein product sales now equating to over 25 per cent of the family
business’ total sales.

On top of the two new-to-shelf products, the German retailer will introduce Graham’s Kefir drinks
to a further 220 stores UK wide and extend availability of Graham’s Protein 25g yogurt drinks.
This expansion to the existing listing is in response to the soaring consumer demand for ‘on-thego’ protein products and gut health boosting products to play part of a rounded diet.

Andrew Shephard, Performance Nutrition Lead at Loughborough University, an official
partner of Graham’s Family Dairy said:
“As the performance nutrition lead at Loughborough Sport, I am delighted to support the
partnership with Graham’s Family Dairy. The new Protein Cottage Cheese, with its high protein
and calcium content, is an excellent addition to both athletes’ and fitness enthusiasts’ diets. This
product not only promotes muscle recovery and bone health but also provides a convenient,
nutritious option for anyone looking to maintain a balanced diet.”

The double product launch highlights the family business’ dedication to blending tradition and
innovation, as they continue to develop new ways for consumers to enjoy nutritious, high-quality
dairy products.

The family-run business was founded in 1939 by Robert Graham in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire,
where he reared 12 cows, milked them by hand, then made all deliveries by horse and cart.
