The Graham’s The Family Dairy Children’s Panel

With recent research* demonstrating gaps in British children’s knowledge about food, Graham’s the Family Dairy are today launching a new Children’s Tasting Panel to help children find out more about life in the dairy.

Graham’s the Family Dairy, is calling upon children aged between 5 and 11 years old to apply for the following positions on the panel.

  • Junior Butter Boffin
  • Chief Cream Custodian
  • Master Milk Monitor
  • Ice Cream Inspector
  • Chief Cheese Champion

The new recruits will join the youngest members of the Graham family, Holly (7) and Douglas (5) on the Graham’s Children’s Tasting Panel and will meet at the family dairy at Airthrey Kerse Farm in Bridge of Allan to taste-test a variety of dairy products.

Holly Graham said: “I can’t wait to show everyone our dairy and show the other children round the farm! I hope lots of people apply for the panel; it’ll be great fun with loads of yummy things to eat!”

Children aged between 5 and 11 years old can simply fill in the online application form with the help of their parents, before 31 August 2013.

As well as learning all about how dairy products are used in food and drink, the members of the Children’s Tasting Panel will receive a special tour of the dairy and will meet Holly’s Hens, Douglas’ Ducks and Papa’s Calves, plus a goody bag and a very special certificate.

All applicants will also receive a copy of Cuddles the Cow – a fun book about life on Graham’s The Family Dairy farm. The first Children’s Tasting Panel will be held in October 2013.

Graham’s The Family Dairy dates back 3 generations to 1939 and the family run Scotland’s largest herd of Jersey cows.
