Graham’s Marketing Director is the cream of the crop at Scottish business leaders’ awards

The marketing director of Scotland’s largest independent dairy company, Graham’s The Family Dairy has collected a prestigious business accolade at the Institute of Directors (Scotland) Awards.  Carol Graham was named the Fife & Central Scotland Regional Director.

The judges selected Carol Graham of the Bridge of Allan-based business for being instrumental in building the Graham’s brand across Scotland and the UK, which has generated new listings and a significant increase in sales.  She was responsible for the dairy’s rebrand in 2006 – from Graham’s Dairies – achieving a new look and a more engaging tone of voice.  This resulted in new listings with Sainsbury’s, Asda and Tesco in Scotland and a 25 per cent increase in business during its first year.

Carol’s key achievement during the last 12 months was to mastermind the business’s first foray into TV advertising and has expanded consumer reach through a strategic and integrated marketing campaign.

IoD Scotland Executive Director David Watt said: “The brand concept of ‘family’ and the emphasis on independence, together with astute market messaging and product development, has been critical to the growth in turnover and profitability and the recognition of the company in the market.”

On receiving her award, Carol Graham, said:  “I feel really honoured for my role in the development of the Graham’s brand and its commercial success to be recognised by such an esteemed organisation in the Institute of Directors.  The Graham’s business and its product range have won numerous awards in recent years but an individual award of this nature is very much appreciated.”

David Watt, added:  “The IoD Scotland Director of the Year Awards celebrate the success of Scotland’s business leaders and given the challenges they have faced over the past few years, their efforts to grow their organisations and drive innovation across the marketplace as well as make a real difference to the Scottish economy are to be applauded.”

The IoD Director of the Year Awards were conceived in 2004 by IoD Scotland to recognise and celebrate excellence at director level within the private, public and third sectors, across the Scottish regions.
