Graham’s Cream of the Crop in December

Father Christmas wasn’t the only one working flat out over Christmas.  Graham’s the Family Dairy has been working around-the-clock for the past few weeks to satisfy demand for cream, butter and Graham’s Gold premium products.  Sales of food and drink peak at Christmas and New Year as families loosen the purse strings and increase spending for family gatherings and celebrations.

During the month of December, sales of Graham’s double and single cream have increase by a quarter to 444,489 litres, enough to fill over 2,200 bath tubs*.  Furthermore, butter sales rose by 15% and Graham’s Gold range sales also saw a rise of 10% as consumers sought out that extra delicious treat over the festive period.

“We increased production and distribution during December to meet the special seasonal demand for our produce, however this has been the busiest year ever” said Graham’s The Family Dairy Marketing Director Carol Graham.

“We never really close because the cows always need to be cared for and milked but the last few weeks we have been flat out at the dairy to ensure everyone has the milk, cream and butter they wanted for their Christmas celebrations.”

Graham’s is Scotland’s largest, independent dairy company. Following the Hogmanay celebrations the business is looking forward to a very exciting year ahead in 2014 as the company celebrates its 75th anniversary.
