Big licks as Graham’s launches flavoured ice cream

Graham’s The Family Dairy, Scotland’s largest independent dairy, is promising visitors an ‘ice-time’ at this year’s Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh with the launch today (24 June) of seven new melt-in-the-mouth ice cream flavours (free-to-use images of celebrity chef Nick Nairn helping launch the ice-cream will be sent to picture desks).

Children and adults who visit the Grahams’ stand will enjoy the refreshing taste of Graham’s Scottish Dairy range of delicious Mint-Choc-Chip, Chocolate, Strawberry or Raspberry Ripple.  Organic consumers will enjoy the tasty Chocolate option while the luxuriously creamy Graham’s Gold range, lovingly produced from the golden milk of the dairy’s prize herd of doe-eyed Jersey cows is available in Dark Chunky Chocolate Chip and mouth-watering Strawberry Pieces.

The delicious full range; Scottish Dairy (1 litre, RRP £2.75), Organic (500ml, RRP £3) and Graham’s Gold (500ml, £3) is now available in selected Sainsbury’s stores throughout Scotland.  Every quality tub of Graham’s The Family Dairy ice cream is freshly produced and packaged in a special facility at Airthrey Kerse Farm in Bridge of Allan, where 71 years ago grand-father Robert first produced milk for the breakfast table.

The launch of Graham’s flavoured ice-cream follows last year’s successful introduction into Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda of the family’s delicious Scottish Dairy, Graham’s Gold and Organic vanilla ice-cream. Graham’s Gold was voted by judges ‘best in category’ at the 2009 Royal Highland Show and the vanilla ice-cream range was named by Sainsbury’s as its ‘Best Product Launch in Frozen Category.’

Robert Graham, managing director of Graham’s The Family Dairy said: “We are confident the care and passion of our production methods and the consistently high quality of milk produced by our loyal local farmers is reflected in the mouth-watering taste of our new flavoured ice creams.  I hope our customers enjoy the yummy new flavours as much as we do!”

The Royal Highland Show will mark two other proud milestones for the family dairy also renowned for its award-winning range of milks, creams and butters. A stand at the Royal Highland Show is dedicated to showcasing the latest brand evolution by Graham’s The Family Dairy.  Backed by a six figure investment, the brand evolution further refines how Graham’s engages its discerning consumers and reinforces a firm commitment to product innovation, including the recent launch (through Sainsbury’s) of the UK’s first 1% Organic milk.

As Marketing Director Carol Graham noted, the award of a fellowship from the Royal Agricultural Societies to her dad, Dr Robert Graham, is a further reason for the family to celebrate.  “Dad has dedicated his life to Scottish dairy farming and showing. We are extremely proud that this year he is to be named by the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland as a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies.”
