Watroise Announces Scottish
Partnership with Graham's Dairies
Waitrose, the food shops of the John Lewis Partnership, will expand its Select Farm Milk into Scotland after securing a deal with Graham’s Dairies to supply the two Scottish stores which open in Edinburgh, 1st June.
The partnership with Graham’s Dairies means that Waitrose customers in Scotland will have the reassurance that they are guaranteed Scottish milk produced by known farms and procured, processed and packed by a local diary. Waitrose draws milk from known farmers who are paid a premium in return, thus forming long term relationships with producers.
Graham’s, a family-run business in its third generation, is Scotland’s largest independent dairy business and regularly tops nationwide review tables for the ‘farm gate’ price paid to milk producers. Established in 1939, Bridge of Allan-based Graham’s has enjoyed a period of considerable expansion, having acquired 20 businesses in the last decade and enjoyed 13 straight years of growth.
Until now, Waitrose Select Farm Milk has been supplied by farms in England, specially chosen for their quality and high standards of animal welfare. The new deal will see the milk produced by Graham’s branded as Scottish Select Farm Milk.
As a business Waitrose is committed to high levels of quality and service, selling British produce and sourcing from local and regional areas demanding high standards in sustainable farming and using ethical practises. All cows producing Waitrose milk are cared for in conditions which are consistent with the highest welfare of cattle.
